An engagement present for Kat
Jack originally planned on just getting his RX125 barn find good enough to pass rego. After chatting about his bigger plans with the bike he decided to build it as an engagement present for his fiancé Kat and said let’s just do the whole thing in one go.
With this build we had to purchase a brand new tank because of the bad state of the original tank. Once all the new parts were added it was time to strip the bike, firstly the wheels needed repairs and then sent off to be powder coated. New Kenda tyres were fitted and bearings replaced etc. Next was to sand back the engine and frame and paint.
At this stage we realised the carby was leaking so it was time for a carburettor rebuild, we also replaced all lights, completed a full rewire, new bars, switches, mirrors, speedo and cable, new throttle, shortened fenders and new chrome.
Once all this was finished it was time to retrim the seat and assemble the bike for tuning.
The rest is history.
